Scammers Are Gluing Together Frankenstein iPhones Out Of Old Broken Parts Then Selling Them As New

It’s actually pretty easy. Most “broken” iPhones work just fine, just need a couple new parts and some spit and shine. Basically, what occurs is that the guts of an old iPhone are put inside a cosmetically new body, with an unblemished touchscreen, back panel and band.

Packaging is a little trickier. At best, this recombobulated iPhone will be packed in original Apple retail packaging — used, discarded or procured on the black market — or else counterfeit packaging from a local printer. It will then be wrapped in plastic and shipped off to various local and international markets.

The scam here is that while people buying these iPhones think they’ve just gotten a good deal, what they’ve really gotten is an out-of-warranty iPhone that often can’t run on their local networks. They’re out hundreds of dollars, and often try to recoup these losses by selling the iPhone on eBay or Craigslist, repeating the cycle. Yeesh.

Club Promoter Creates MLK Weekend Flyer Controversy - What About The Others?

A Miami promoter kicked up a little dust recently when he decided to use the image of Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr. to promote a strip club function on the weekend of the slain civil rights leader's birthday. Apparently many were unhappy with the stripclub promotion touted as "Bad Bitch Sundays".

The event, which its states is presented by "Boss N.I.G.G.A.Z." features additional flyer details of Dr. King holding a stash of cash in his hand next to a scantily clad stripper adorned with more cash and bottles of Ciroc Vodka.  The promoter, DJ Big Boy even added the catchy tagline: "The Official I Have a Dream Bash". You can't make this coonery up.

The local Miami media latched on to the story after a number of complaints were made about the flyer. The promoter says he didn't relize that the flyer would cause so much controversy and the club has distanced itself from the promoter.

DJ Big Boy isn't the only promoter that has some explaining to do. As you can see below, parties all over the country are using King's image to promote questionable MLK Weekend events. Some feature strippers, while one even goes as far as blend the images of slain rapper, The Notorious B.I.G. with the tagline, "It Was All a Dream". Clever.

I'm reminded of that episode of the satirical "Boondocks":

What would MLK say about this coonery and buffonery going on today?...

Jay-Z Pens Poem Dedicated To His Daughter, Bans "Bitch" From His Vocabulary

According to NME.com, rapper Jay-Z has decided to refrain from all use of the word "bitch". Reportedly, the Brooklyn MC, who's wife Beyonce recently gave birth to a daughter, penned a poem on the his past usage of the pejorative term.

Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich
I didn’t think hard about using the word bitch
I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it
Now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it
No man will degrade her, or call her name. I’m so focused on your future,
the degradation has passed. I wish you wealth, health and insight
Forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.

The poem comes a week after Jay released the song, "Glory" dedicated to his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
